"High Falls, Open Dam", was originally titled “Rough Run Falls, Opened Dam” but thankfully someone was thoughtful enough to reach out and provide me with the correct name for this spectacular waterfall. Thank you Ken!
The painting was inspired by a hike off Shoal Creek Mountain Road in Cashiers, NC my husband and I took a few years ago with his parents. We had been on that hike twice before and were not expecting such a treat. A dramatic yet peaceful and tranquil little waterfall in comparison before was now a magnificent sight to behold! A couple of bikers passing by informed us that they had already been there the day before and wanted another look before it returned to its normal state. I can see why! As you can see, I never got over what I saw and just had to capture it on canvas!
