This beautiful male cardinal courts his future mate by collecting food and feeding her seeds beak to beak. When she agrees to become his mate they will sing to each other. What a lovely bird. I learned so much about these birds while I was researching for this piece. My inspiration? Well, the cardinal happens to be the favorite bird of my best friend and husband, Joe.
