Lisa was in the market to buy an Arabian horse. She and a girlfriend, who was also looking for a new mount, went together. It was mid-morning in the spring of the year. The backdrop was a beautiful orange grove and the riding arena was designated by a white post and rail fence. Fiona was brought out for the young women to see and turned loose in the ring. She put on a fiery show, galloping and trotting with a high tail. Her manner was so wild that Lisa's friend felt unsafe in the arena with her and left Lisa one on one with Fiona. Lisa extended her hand. Fiona responded by turning to Lisa, stopping directly in front of her and snaking out her neck to meet Lisa's hand. They bonded heart and soul in that moment. Fiona would be with Lisa until she passed away.
This posthumous commissioned portrait commemorates the moment that Fiona turned toward Lisa.
