My first day at Cypress Hills Provincial Park was spent walking the Highland Trail, which loops around Loch Lomond, as I searched for ideal painting locations. I stumbled upon this scene and made a plan to return a few days later to capture it. The heat was intense, but I was fortunate to find a large pine tree that offered shade, allowing me to dedicate a lovely afternoon to my painting.
