Statement
My art is about connecting with nature and sharing that experience with others. I use an intuitive process to develop shapes and colors in my work and I use a limited palette to create a certain mood. My modern-style animal and bird paintings are designed with vibrant colors to express emotion and sometimes humor. When I paint the land, sea, and sky, I look for light, patterns and simplified shapes to create a poetic interpretation that captures the essence of nature and wild places. My volunteer work with at a wildlife hospital enriches my art practice.
