My ultimate bucket list? To be a cowgirl artist in Arizona. Although I'm better known as an equine artist, I love to sneak off into the western landscape.
MessageI so enjoyed painting my first barrel racing piece, "Fearless Youth", that I wanted to explore it a bit further. I recognized my own childhood in these girls who tear around the barrel course at perilous angles and speeds. For me, it was racing my friends bareback across a wide field. Without stirrups we had no leverage and often couldn't pull up our sprinting charges. This lack of control took us crashing into the woods at the far end - frequently resulting in bloody scratches or worse, getting dumped by a tree branch. We laughed and thought it was all great fun. Our parents didn't.
The girl's long blond hair echoed the horse's tail. Thus, I saw two palominos.
