Born 1995 in Rochester, New York. Hitchhiked around the United States several times between semesters at college and wrote books about his travels. Began an experimental MFA writing program at Naropa University during the pandemic, but quickly dropped out in favor of pursuing watercolor painting and visual art. That pursuit brought him to Key West in 2021, where he took a job at the Key West Art Center, soon became the executive director, and was given his first opportunity to exhibit his work. Aside from the art center, his Key West work experience includes Exhibits Manager of the Key West Art & Historical Society, selling art as a gallery associate at the Key West Collective, painting five minute portraits at Mallory Square’s nightly sunset celebration, and exhibiting his own work in galleries, restaurants, and other businesses around town. He has served on boards of numerous local nonprofit organizations, including the Anne McKee Artist Fund, the Cultural Preservation Society, and the Key West Art Center. Mentored by iconic Key West artists Andy Thurber and Martha de Poo, he continues painting profusely, refining and exploring his own ink and watercolor style that nods to the Key West School but also Raoul Dufy and roots of French Modernism. His work is collected worldwide, and he currently holds a studio at the historic Key West Armory. Thurber’s early words of advice to him, that artists have a duty to defend their individuality and spontaneity, echo throughout his work as it matures.
