Known for his lifelike and expressive illustrations of Jamaican scenes, Sean’s works of watercolor, pastel, pen & ink, charcoal, or mixed media are delightful.
MessageSean Henry comes to painting with many years of a graphic background, first exhibiting in 2013 and has exhibited annually since. He graduated the Jamaica School of Art (Edna Manley School for the Visual & Performing Arts) in 1987 with Distinction. He strongly incorporates the value of light and shadows to portray depth-perception in his work while capturing the primary themes of Jamaican culture.
Statement
My art is about showcasing the beauty of Jamaica and the Caribbean. Ultimately, while growing more familiar with the different mediums that I use, my art, voice and shared expressions are meant to evoke positive emotions from my audience.
