Biography – Alan Scott Reed
I grew up in San Diego, surrounded by beaches, ocean views, and a love for color and creativity. Thanks to my mom, an artist and musician, I got an early start exploring museums, drawing, and painting. She introduced me to ideas of balance, texture, and color—especially through her love for plein air and impressionism—which have influenced my style.
My real spark for painting happened when I took on a project for my wife’s interior design client and did multiple pieces for a commercial project. The client really loved my work, so I started painting for friends and family, which lead into commission projects. Since then, I’ve been filling large walls with color and texture, transforming ordinary spaces into interesting environments.
I enjoy working with bold colors, textures and spontaneous gestures to create pieces full of energy and movement. Whether on canvas, wood, or reclaimed materials, I want my art to evoke emotion and inspire curiosity. Art is about bringing color, life, and balance into everyday moments.
