Floating around like a dream after just waking up, the question is striking - "Is it ever worth it?" Like a whisper, but one that can't be ignored. It'll spin around in your head until the answer emerges. Self questioning often revolves around the past. This piece was initially brown, with large circles of white house paint adorned with allusions of floral texture and a variety of glitters. Gold wire mimics the large white rings, piercing the canvas over and over and over again in the same cyclical pattern of the question. Before too long, pale blue overtook the earth-colored base, in the form of acrylic ink, house paint, and pouring medium. This erased the aggressive color palette but preserved the texture, reminiscent of stretch marks or bed wrinkles, an ocean of sensitive blue skin. Yellow splatters contradict the circular direction, and add yet another layer to the complex question. Pink glitter and gold leaf emerge, and the question is posed: "Is it ever worth it?"
