I imagined the shapes and colors in this piece from the emotions I feel about someone. They are very important to me and I love them deeply. The painting was painted in layers. Step by step it was built up like how our relationship was built, layer by layer. I think of it as our medallion representing peace, love and prosperity. The blue triangular shape represents him and the peace he brings me. The red shapes represent the love and care he shows me. They are placed like they sprouted or grew out of the peace we created by spending the time needed to get to know each other. The green section underneath it all represents the prosperity of all types that I have found in my life. The prosperity roots grew and continue to grow deeper from peace and love. The small red shapes in the middle of the prosperity are roots of love that will always be there. Each shape has multiple shades of the colors and shadow created by charcoal to add depth, dimension and richness of each concept. The dark shadow border creates a boundary that protects it all.
