This piece is from a series on the microbiome, which was inspired by gardening during the pandemic and watching two documentaries on the microbiome called "Kiss the Ground" and "The Biggest Little Farm." I drew roots from my garden and made a solar plate, which I printed with painted stencils representing microbes.
