Sandra Wolf, an award-winning artist, paints in both oil and pastel. Always mindful of composition, balance and form, she paints in a style that is loose, bold, colorful and energetic. Having started off painting landscapes and still lifes, she began creating non-representational abstracts a few years ago. By relying solely on her imagination and emotions for inspiration, she aims to capture and communicate specific feelings to her viewer.

The artist explains: "My greatest joy is to convey a mood and evoke a feeling through color, line, stroke and texture. I prefer description over precision, suggestion rather than exact portrayal. My art has come to be about expressing what I feel within, rather than portraying what is in front of me." Regarding her abstract art, she notes: "My adventures with abstraction provide a thrilling, emotional and enriching journey for me. Working from imagination presents a whole new world of challenges, which I embrace and enjoy." Sandi is a Colorist, relying on color to set a starting point for dialogue between artist and viewer.

Sandi has studied oil painting with Lisa Pressman, oil and pastels with Anne Kullaf, and pastels with Casey Klahn, Julie Friedman, and Desmond O'Hagan. She is a juried Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America, a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey, and a member of the Maryland Pastel Society, Studio Montclair Inc., and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. She has had three solo shows, several group shows, and has been juried into both national and international exhibitions. 

Sandi earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. She practiced securities law at two major New York City law firms before becoming a stay-at-home mother, active community volunteer, and now a full-time working artist. She resides in Short Hills, NJ with her husband and has two children.
