"Rage as a bridge to (self-) Love" was created as an answer to the German collective Stimmen der Rebellion (Voices of rebellion) call for artists with theme "With Love and Rage".
Keywords for inspiration: "radical tenderness", "transformative power of sorority", "act of rebellion", "fearless".
Whispered from within, the creatrix's voice: "I give you rage as a bridge to love." with the entry date of 3/1/25 in my studio journal.
"Rage as a bridge to (self-) Love" explores my personal experience of the destructive and transformative power of rage as a catalyst for healing from emotional abuse.
When I learned to harness and own the visceral and primal force of my rage as manifestation of a deeper Love, it became the alchemical fire that dissolved the emotional and physical pain. Rage rose me from victim to survivor. It cauterised the warrior's wound so she could rise into sovereign dignity.
Ultimately, rage returned me to the primal waters of (self-) Love through the artistic expression and experience of Beauty.
When asked about what feminism means to me, it is again through the personal experience that I choose to weave my story within a feminist narrative. No intellectual fluff, just real, raw experience in the flesh. I walk my walk, one step, one cut at a time.
To me feminism means living as an embodied voice and presence challenging and disrupting the oppressing overculture of patriarchy.
As a first generation immigrant, working class woman, it is refusing the fear, shame-based narratives that prevented the women before me to be fully expressed and self-empowered.
My artistic practice has been key in voicing and healing the patterns of abuse ingrained in my flesh and bones, therefore becoming the testament of reclaiming my body as territory and identity of my own.
