This piece is part of a series of work inspired by ancient sites in Wessex (Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset). It's a mixed media piece made up of acrylic painting, collage (hand prints on tissue paper) and drawn elements.

Maiden Castle is a massive Iron Age fort on the edge of Dorchester. It has always had a feeling of power and edginess. This is human life embedded within the landscape.
The land itself sways and rolls and the scale of both the landscape and the hill fort gives the viewer or walker a feeling of sublimity.
