PAINTING & COLLAGE
Each piece in this collection integrates a wide variety of painting, collage and mixed media technique. Materials include but are not limited to: graphite, crayon, ink, paint, pastel, and a diversity of paper. Small 3-D objects will often unexpectedly make their presence known.
WORKS ON PAPER
Comprised of more recent unique drawings and hand-pulled prints, I like to think of these as my orphans. Some may be in process. Others wait to become part of a larger whole. Look closely. You may notice more than one series evolving here. Stay tuned.
FINE ART PRINTS
As "THE SEA IN ME" series grew in popularity, I collaborated with ON LOCATION STUDIOS in Poughkeepsie, NY, to create this stunning collection of fine art prints. What a pleasure to work with this photographic studio.
Archival giclée / Unframed.
Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment ink on Epson Cold Press White w/ borders.
Hand-embellished by artist.
LIMITED EDITIONS
These images were first completed as original paintings in Pemaquid, Maine, summer of 2016. Atmospherically, I felt the compositions worked well together as a trio. HIGHLAND STUDIOS, in Cold Spring, NY, captured their calm environmental essence as limited edition prints on a velvety soft Hahnemuhle. Just luscious.
Archival giclée limited edition / Unframed.
Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment ink on Hahnemuhle William Turner paper / 310 gsm.
ETCHING ARCHIVE
Etching was a passion of mine for many years. It harbored an emotional breadth and depth rooted in my childhood and brought a found beauty to melancholia. The process had the feel of a psychological dig. I found myself drawn in by those relationships lying beyond the ordinary field of awareness. And would at times conjure up my own past to incorporate elements of personal meaning. So integration of such things as x-rays, dolls, birds, and ephemeral memorabilia came naturally for me. I sought an intimate and thought-provoking imagery…one that would connect me with the worlds of both matter and spirit, and serve as a channel through which I might find an alternative healing and balance in my life. I employ a similar approach in the contemporary abstract work I produce today.
