Shigaraki-yaki is one of the famous Japanese pottery’s, based in the Shigaraki area in Shiga, Japan. They have produced Shigaraki-yaki for more than 1,300 years. Shigaraki-yaki is very simple, natural, strong and warm.
This Kensui, it is very steady, strong and beautiful colours.
It is made by 4th Rakusai Takahashi (1925-2011). He succeeded to 4th Rakusai Takahashi in 1976 after his father 3rd Rakusai Takahashi passed away. His real name is Kozo, born in Shigaraki. He retired in 2010 and 5th Rakusai Takahashi runs their kiln.
