"Bloom Within: Cultivating a Radiant Soul" is my debut collection. This body of work explores the powerful connection to my South Asian heritage, celebrating resilience, growth, and the reclamation of inner power.
As a woman of color navigating the intersections of Latin, Black, and the fragmented South Asian heritage and influences, I have often felt the weight of societal expectations. The pandemic provided a transformative pause to process trauma and identity, leading me on a journey of "unraveling." Through the creative process, I reconnected with my inner shakti (power).
Each mixed-media piece features female figures adorned with cultural symbols - saris, bangles, and henna - layered with acrylic, oil pastel, and gold leaf. Grounded in the principle of ahimsa (non-violence), these paintings are a visual revolution of self-acceptance. They serve as an invitation for every goddess to cultivate her inner fire and thrive within her unique radiance.
