Freedom examines the inner lives of women enduring oppression and prolonged hardship, where limitation shapes both body and presence. Painted exclusively with coffee on canvas, the works use gesture, erosion, and negative space to convey endurance, restraint, and quiet resistance. Faces are intentionally hidden—turned away or obscured—to reflect both the weight of suffering and its universality, allowing each figure to stand for many rather than one.
