Biggar Rooflines

A collection of collage paintings on wood panels created for Biggar Little Festival 2024. The profiles of dormer windows, spires, chimneys, towers, crow-step gables, clock faces - all the motifs that make up the roofscapes of Biggar caught my attention for this body of work. The association of chimneys with warmth, hearth and home, clocks and the passage of time, spires and towers reaching up and beyond all lead me to a sense of untold stories embedded within the townscape of this ancient market town. This work has been created from many sketches and layers of collage and paint all finished with two coats of UV protective matt varnish.

Caversham Picture Framer

A selection of current work available to buy from the Caversham Picture Framer, Caversham. Exhibition of a new body of work planned for October 2025.

A body of work painted to highlight the rich and colourful history contained in the rear views of the ancient Closes of the Royal Scottish Burgh of Lanark. These narrow passageways run at right angles either side of the High Street and were art of an exhibition held at the Tolbooth, Lanark in 2021.
