Third piece in a series of brilliant, bold and free abstracts representing whatever the viewer experiences. Obviously I had definite powerful feeling and emotions. I love creating this type of work as I take the time to carefully pick my palette, sit quietly in front of a large white canvas with a clear mind and no expectations or plan whatsoever. And then the magic occurs.

The process is as if I were in a trance. I'm often asked to describe the technique. I can't, as I'm in this creative cloud, oblivious to everything around me. No one can be in the studio when I paint these type of paintings. They are created fast and furious, sometimes with slow graceful movements blending softly with the classical musical playing in the background and often, with large plaster spatulas, spoons, knives or whatever is within reach, paint and ink flying here and there and everywhere with Lady Madonna bouncing off the walls.

Many artists lament as to when to end a painting. I don't. There may be a thousand elements in a painting, but there will come 'a' moment, one single drop of paint and, in my mind, the music stops! I grab the large paint bottle and sign my name. It is done.

Works of this nature must be created this way. They come from a place of complete raw emotion and in order for all the emotions to flow onto canvas, I cannot allow the mind to get in the way. I have to stay ahead of it. Time is of the essence. These paintings are raw and free but most of all, they are honest!

Why have the last 22 paintings been named 'Revival No 1., No2., etc....? Because they are coming so quickly I don't have the time to mess around naming them. I'd rather spend that creative time creating new work. Why 'Revival?' Because ever since 'Covid 19' I've decided I would create a series of paintings that would have a central theme of positivity.
