I paint on the floor, on long sheets of bright white canvas, on my hands & knees, wet & fast & honest, music blaring, for days at a time - until 'it' ends.
MessageI paint on the floor, on long sheets of bright white canvas, on my hands and knees, wet and fast and honest, music blaring, for days at a time - and it all ends as sudden as it starts, always taking me by surprise. It's a deeply emotional 'trance-dance' of sorts and when the music stops, I'm completely and utterly spent often crying or laughing. I am deeply involved within my painting. In essence, it 'is' a love affair." My work ranges from abstract to expressionist to, well, my own unique style - bold vivid color and loose flowing line work that conveys a sense of joy, always hope and deep appreciation for nature.
Prior to painting, the many years of creating fine art macro photography, although successful, could never allow me to express the range and depth of my rapid cycling of emotions, a condition called Bipolar disorder, formerly referred to as manic depression, until painting found me! At last I am free and my work shows the honesty of my feelings as I do not edit my feelings - what I feel (at the moment) is what I paint!
