Competition of Forms reflects Robin Antar’s early exploration of pattern, repetition, and spatial rhythm, ideas that first emerged in her works on paper while studying at the School of Visual Arts in the late 1970s. Interlocking forms create movement, tension, and visual continuity, allowing the composition to shift as the viewer moves around it. Balancing order and individuality, the work transforms repeated shapes into a dynamic dialogue of texture, energy, and form, reflecting the push and pull of human relationships and the patterns of society itself.
