Local artist Jon Murrill painted a mural within the Twisted Track Brewpub to reflect the train theme of the brewery and restaurant. Extending across one wall is a massive train with clouds of steam flowing at its sides. Within the backdrop are the mountains in a sunset with the Roanoke Star shining brightly in a corner. While looking towards the back of the train, some tracks twist off the rails, a nod to the Brewpub’s name. Found on another wall, the train is depicted again, but with an alcoholic beverage in tow.

About the artist:
Jon Murrill is a muralist and portrait artist in Roanoke, VA. Since obtaining his Master of Fine Arts degree from Radford University, he has exhibited his work in several locations across the U.S. He has also taught a variety of art courses at a collegiate level and has deep involvement in community engagement projects. Murrill’s murals can be seen throughout Roanoke and Southwest, Virginia. Through his work, he conveys his passion for capturing the human spirit within every individual.
