Created by Thea Monier-Williams, "Starlight" was among the sculptures in the first Art in Roanoke (AIR) temporary exhibition from October 2008 to April 2010. The steel orbs collect the sun’s energy during the day to light them internally at night. The artist’s goal was to combine art and science while making an ecological statement about renewable resources.
