Roanoke native Bryce Cobbs is quickly building a body of work after receiving encouragement at Patrick Henry High School and attending Virginia Commonwealth University. “My family has a lot of history in the Roanoke area,” says Cobbs. “Having their support really motivates my work.”
That body of work is quickly growing. Busy undertaking commissioned work, he also created the Nipsey Hussle mural with Humble Hustle on Moorman Avenue, NW, and painted the R in the END RACISM NOW street mural. “I hope to eventually become more active in the public art scene,” says Cobbs. “I want to become an artist who gives back to the community that supports me on my journey. Eventually, I’d like to open an art studio/gallery space for young artists in the NW/SW areas to give them that space in to grow the love for art in my community.”
