Public artist, Jim Collins, designed 'Hill Climb' to reflect the theme of "city in motion", specifically, Roanoke's growing bike culture. This piece is included in the Elmwood Park Art Walk.
'Hill Climb' stands 14 feet high and is made entirely of aluminum. The piece features silhouette cyclists riding up a steep incline. This sculpture depicts a bike race as a geometric abstraction.
About the artist:
Collins has previously been featured in Roanoke's temporary sculpture exhibitions. His work routinely portrays silhouettes of people and animals made of metal. More of his work can be found on [email protected]
