Stretching along Campbell Avenue near the Noel C. Taylor Municipal building is the street mural End Racism Now which was created in response to the civil unrest that followed after the murder of George Floyd. The person who initiated this public mural was Eboni Harrington, a teacher at Lucy Addison Middle School. Harrington along with multiple community members, local businesses, and city officials came together to make this mural possible. Eboni stated, “We wanted to represent all marginalized communities — Black lives, Asian lives, Hispanic and all lives that have been oppressed by an oppressor.e We wanted everyone to be able to look at the mural and feel some type of connection.”
The result was the twelve letters of “End Racism Now.” Twelve artists were invited to design a letter each based on their interpretation of social justice. Among the letters are also names of Black people, who have been killed.
