It’s easy to see why Lucy Lee, a big reader, former Arts Commissioner, and founder of the region’s Roanoke Valley Reads in the 2010s was drawn to this work by local artist Brett Lague. It will probably make a home in one of our libraries’ quiet reading rooms, inviting us to settle in, go deeper, read.

Brett Lague is an active artist in the community of Finncastle in Botetourt County. He was a City of Roanoke Artist in Residence in the 2023-24 cohort.
