Water has many qualities. It represents fluidity & changing nature of emotions. Water can be elusive- hard to hold onto, like a memory. It can be firm & seemingly unchanging when in it's ice form, similar to our stuck emotions when we contract around them. Water reminds us to let go & be more fluid.
Inspiration for my art comes from nature & my desire to reflect her artistry. My goal is to express this awe & connection w/something larger & wiser. Having lived in Japan, I've been guided by wabi-sabi, finding something of interest in the overlooked, imperfect & impermanent. There is deep value in experiencing beauty, joy & serenity- this gives us a place to rest from life's challenges & feeling despair. It allows us to balance & recharge. My goal is to make art that's intriguing, connects us to nature's wisdom & encourages us to open our hearts & experience more calm.
