I retired from working as a Visual Arts Instructor motivated to produce fine art. I have realized this dream with expressionist woodcut printmaking and impressionist oil paintings that reflect my passion for life and nature. I create landscapes that celebrate perennial gardens or rural vistas, including wildlife, domestic animals or people. I also create still life compositions. I strive to capture seasonal color and light.
I find inspiration here where we live or during my travels and thrive in the outdoors. I often paint ‘en plein air’, hiking, biking and kayaking with a camera, to return with my easel and paints.
Sauk County Wisconsin is a treasure trove of state and county parks, nature preserves, lakes, rivers and splendid vistas. As a parent and grandmother, I hope to motivate and convey the concept that we need to do all we can to preserve our planet’s ecology for future generations.
