Feathered Flames in the Abyss is a 6x5 foot oil-on-canvas composition created via the Organic Movement process. By replacing brushes with pigment-soaked thread, Raj produces a surface that feels carved by light. Arcs of ember orange and fuchsia slash across a black and white void, mimicking flames dispersing in wind. Building on the gestural lineage of Cy Twombly and Lee Krasner, the work uses thread as a metaphor for fragility and force. Emerging from a meditation on emotional surges, the painting confronts the abyss with motion. Ultimately, it invites viewers to experience the unspoken through tactile, pulsing, and urgent forms.
