Cerulean Pulse is a 5x5 foot meditation on elemental flow within the Organic Movement series. Prepared with layers of rich cerulean oil and linseed oil, the wet field receives translucent gestures from baker’s twine dipped in lighter pigments. These swept arcs mimic oceanic currents or wind streams without literal depiction. Drawing from Clyfford Still’s visual ruptures and Gerhard Richter’s blurred atmospheres, Raj uses twine to sculpt a surface that transcends traditional tools. The resulting work captures a vibrating stillness—an immense force held in delicate rhythm. Ultimately, it serves as a tactile, unrepeatable return to elemental making, invoking water’s deep power.
