The iroke Ifa is an important divination implement used by the priest to invoke Orunmila during divination. The pointed end is gently tapped against the divination tray. This long, slim rod is usually carved in ivory. It has three major parts. The top or pointed section is usually without design. The middle section is either a human head or a kneeling female nude figure holding her breasts. The third section can be another figure (in this case a kneeling male).
