“Unveil” is an original abstract painting that speaks to the unveiling of something long kept hidden. A feeling stored deep in the body, invisible but present. For me, that feeling was a kind of loneliness that I avoided for years. I tried to fill it, soften it, ignore it… through love, validation, distraction.
But eventually there was no more escaping. No more running. Only the need to pause and feel. This painting was born right there; at the point where old defense mechanisms lost their power, and I could finally look at what lay underneath.
The central movement in the piece is raw and expressive. It symbolizes the ways we try to shield ourselves from what feels too painful. And yet, it also carries openness. A tentative release. A soft and sharp unveiling of what longs to be seen.
