The six squares are equipped with magnets that hold them in place. Thanks to these magnets, you can move and rotate the elements of this work. The possible permutations are numerous — 11,796,480 to be precise! The small oval plaques painted on the four sides of the frame give this number in different notations. Each permutation can be identified by the code visible through the holes on the back of the frame.
If you wanted to see all the permutations over a period of 50 years, allowing 12 hours per day for the task, you would have to rearrange the elements once every 66 seconds. It will probably be better to satisfy yourself with a subset of the possibilities!
But, in that case, how will you be able to find the two hidden images?
The work is a unique handcrafted creation. Its price is just €1,179.65, giving one hundred permutations per euro-cent.
