A story told of an uncle of mine recounted that he was very late starting to talk. When he did, his first words were a rather poetic sentence:
Two little mans
Down by the fire
Warming they little hands
For some reason this story returned to my mind as I was unrolling a fresh canvas, and this picture is the outcome.
This oil painting on canvas is presented as a scroll, with a cord for suspension, a top batten whose profile allows it to be suspended on a hook, and a bottom roller, so that it will hang out straight, and can be rolled up for transport.
