Originally prepared for the "Arte de Portas Abertas" art festival in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, I responded to the theme of Sustainability with two humorous animal paintings.

Here, a tortoise is seen eating a painting of a hare, in a jokey reference to the well-known morality tale by Aesop. To emphasize that the hare is only a portrait, the cursive inscription "Ceci n'est pas un lièvre" is visible below it -- of course referring to the famous paintings by Magritte.
