It is entertaining sometimes to open a discussion with the ghost of great painters of the past, if only, as here, to gently tease them for being too serious...
This painting is, of course a response to one of the most well-known works by Édouard Manet, his "Olympia", which today is largely hidden on the internet. Major search engines, such as DuckDuckGo and Google have censored the painting, preferring to show only Olympia's head and various parodies. I assume this disrespect stems from pandering to Unitedstatesian prudishness. I certainly mean no disrespect to Édouard Manet, and hope he will appreciate my little joke as a tribute to his genius.
