Grey Light

Grey Light is an oil painting on a canvas panel. The work is created within the tensions of image and surface. A discrete and structured surface falls into various depths and spacial complexities and resolves itself coming back to surface. There is a gentle play between surface and depth. The mood I tried to create in this piece is one of quietness and depth. At first glance this seems a simple painting, but during contemplation the subtleties begin to speak. The painting is float mounted and framed in a white custom-made frame.
