A Pop Art balloon. Few things have influenced my art more than working with the “Father of Pop Art” Richard Hamilton. I was blown away by his wit, nuance and an unapologetic exploitation of new technologies.

My homage to Richard Hamilton (1922 - 2011)
In the late 2000’s I had the pleasure of working with the “Father of Pop Art,” the late British artist, Richard Hamilton. Until that time, I had no interest in most contemporary art, but watching this “pop artist” work so thoughtfully, with such rigor and insight while using both technology and traditional methods was a revelation. This experience opened my heart to the broader world of conceptual and contemporary art.
Hamilton’s iconic 1956 “Just what is it that makes today’s homes so different, so appealing” collage, features a muscleman with the giant Tootsie Pop that gave rise to this new term.
Here's to you Pop.
