My first artist proof. I wanted a best friend and companion for "Tot." This sculpture is based on a live 3d capture of a French Bulldog (you may recognize this bully as my model for the painting "When Dogs Dream"). I then digitally sculpted some slight changes and beachwear.
If you are interested in the details:
- 3d printed with a very strong ABS plastic — (used for car bumpers)
- Hand finished and airbrush painted with a catalyzed matte polyurethane automotive paint. I further hand finished and gave it a little patina by hand.
- There are internal stainless steel threaded rods inside — attached to the coupling / mounting nuts. The sculpture is filled solid with expanding polyurethane (used with theme park props).
- Wooden base made by me: Plywood, filler and painted with matte white enamel.
