This painting was created to make a diptych that is to be stacked one on top of the other instead of the traditional side-by-side. A very dear collector purchased "September Swell", however, the space it was intended for is tall and narrow. To solve this problem, I painted the foreground for the wave in used in "September Swell". Such a fun way to solve a problem!
