Summer Vacation is an abstracted mixed-media piece in which I layered paint, my own photography, and vintage collage bits to capture memories of growing up. In a large family with very little budget for vacations—our summer “vacations” were actually day-long car trips to a popular tourist destination. A dark palm tree anchors the scene, standing out against the lighter background, while a strip of repeated figures adds a playful, almost cinematic vibe. It’s a blend of memory and imagination—a sunny, layered escape that celebrates those carefree summer moments.
