Flower Chains and Girl Talk features the artist's two daughters is young pre-teens. This setting was taken from the girls posed on their mother's bed. The artist changed their clothing adding an antique umbrella and placing them in a scene from Cypress Hills, Sask. a spot along one of the many hiking trails the family frequented on holidays from May - Oct. throughout the years. The scene is a re-enactment of an early childhood memory of the artist and a neighbour girl as preschoolers in which the artist recalls dappled sunlit patches and making dandelion crowns with this pre-school friend from 600 block Athol Street in Regina, SK. The family lived there until Nikki was 5 years of age. This piece was shown in her 1999 solo show at the Assiniboia Art Gallery; Regina, Sask. It will also be shown at the Lobby Gallery; Regina, SK: Mar. - May 2021. This work is NFS and is in the artist's collection.
