Contemporary landscape seascape of Daley Road Beach, Guernsey Cove, in south eastern Prince Edward Island (Epekwitk).
I visit my favourite local beaches of South East Prince Edward Island almost year round, in almost all sorts of weather. Not during storms, but sometimes soon after them, when the red sand and cliffs are still all wet, the waves are getting calmer but still full of stirred up oranges and browns, and the foam of the shorewash and wavecrests is thick and silvery as the light begins to break through the clouds.
The shore is sandy but scattered with smooth sandstone rocks, with water on the left and red cliffs curving around from the right to partly shelter the beach.
This was painted with a limited palette of white, burnt sienna, ultramarine blue, and phthalo blue.
