Contemporary realism landscape, using techniques of traditional glaze oil painting, depicting MacFarlane Road Beach, White Sands, in south eastern Prince Edward Island (Epekwitk).
A favourite local beach. Warm evening light illuminates the cresting waves, sparkles in the shorewash, and makes the red cliffs glow. Layered clouds cross the blue sky and reflect in the foreground, as each wave washes the sand smooth and flat, then recedes. The tide, too, is receding, and has left fresh seaweed piled at the high tide line. Recent erosion of the cliffs has left a stretch of rockfall at the end of the sandy beach. Beyond, the sea meets the sky at the foot of the cliffs in the distance.
