The sun is nearly below the horizon, and the intense sunset colours of the clouds are making one final brief-but-mighty push against the violet dusk descending, with oranges and purples flooding across the field and road below.

The reference photo for this painting was taken shortly before hurricane Fiona hit in September 2022, and the tree did not survive the storm.
