The image used in this piece is the same as used for Joy. What I was aiming for was a comparison of the two, with Joy incorporating glazes directly over paint and Comfort using a paste medium mixed with paint base for the glazes. It was a way of comparing how the surfaces moved and reflected given the two different techniques. I ended up titling this piece Comfort after I realized how much the soft texture and warm copper tones contrasted with a smokey blue kept pulling me in. Every time I look at it, it makes me think of sitting back on the couch with a good book and hot cup of tea.
Framed in a modern black floater frame and ready to hang.
