The first in a series of paintings called the Girl Detective Paintings, this painting depicts the main character at a moment in which she is contemplating the passing of time and what her life has been while also looking to the future.

This piece was inspired by the character of Nancy Drew, the fictional heroine who moved throughout the world in a constant state of thought, engaged with others but always on a quest to unravel a problem in her mind. She was a great inspiration to me, as were the writers who created her.
